We delivered all drinks onsite for the critically acclaimed Houghton Festival- curated by Craig Richards and produced by the team behind Gottwood. Houghton broke boundaries, not least by it being the first 24 hour festival in the UK. This brought with it obvious challenges, not least the staffing management to deliver 24 hour bars for four days. The brief also sited product and bar production as high on the agenda. We delivered in excess of 60 products across site, giving the crowds at Houghton a drinks selection rarely see on festival bars. The bars were produced to a high specification and Bar Nation helped to deliver one of Europe's most exciting new festivals.


 It was a highly anticipated show, which sold out in days, was talked about endlessly in the press and had great ambitions with the drinks programme and the 24hr bar service over four days. The diversity of the number of bars and product mix across site meant Houghton represented one of the companies biggest challenges to date.


Our teams delivered the UK's first truly 24hr festival bar experience across ten bars that were a mix of both brand activation's and volume bars. The drinks offering was a mix of both local products, craft beers and a range of wines and spirits. The quality of the drinks was second to none, with pre-batched rum punch available across all bars, 8 different beer and ciders, 6 wines and premium spirit up-sells on all bars.


Houghton was a huge critical success and was described as the "best new festival in Europe in 2017" and our teams kept the 10,000 festival goers refreshed for 72 hours straight. We delivered strong net profit and minimal wastage, despite the extremely large product offering available. Houghton was certainly our favourite show of 2017 and we can't wait for 2018.
